Yale Smith, Managing Director
Yale Smith is the founder and Managing Director of Olympia Capital Advisors. The firm was established to assist in the formulation of policies and procedures required by small to medium size businesses which will enable them to meet financial goals necessary for success. In addition to financial planing the firm is active in various investment banking services which includes the arrangement and negotiation of debt/equity placements and as an advisory involving mergers/acquisitions.
- Mr. Smith has a B.B.A. from The University of Texas and is a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He is a commercial banker by background and experience beginning his banking career in 1959 with National Bank of Commerce, in San Antonio, Texas. For many years he was a Senior Vice President and memeber of the Senior Loan Committee with First City National Bank, Houston, Texas and manager of the Commercial Loan Division responsible operating companies headquartered in Houston. In 1981 he joined Allied Bank of Texas where he was Executive Vice President, Commercial Loans and member of the Senior Loan Committee. In 1990 he joined Southwest Bank of Texas as a founding stockholder and Executive Vice President. He served on the Bank's Senior Loan Committee and as a member of the Management Committee.
- Professional activities include past association with the Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University as a member of the teaching staff. Currently he is a director of the M.I.T. Enterprise Forum of Texas which purpose is to promote and assist emerging companies; and an Advisory director with the Southwest Bank of Texas's Business Development Board.
- Civic assignments include past member of the Board of Trustees with the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston, and currently the Hope Foundation for Retarded Children as Director and Chairman of the Finance Committee; and the Salvation Army as Advisory Director and past Chairman.
